Board » Problems » Jabber: Missing support for plaintext login

Some servers only work with plaintext login (e.g. gmx.net), so u can't login with goim2
weird - i didn't even know that gmx had jabber accounts.. anyway .. i just registered a test account (freemail ?) but can't quite figure out how to use it :)

no configuration of smack seems to do the trick :( .. i have posted on the smack forum.. maybe they can help: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/thread/28444
Hey, we have Signatures !!! Great, isn't it ? ;)
I'm not sure whether gmx.at has also a jabber server (But it seems to work with PSI!?). I test it only with my .net account. However gmx has a own IM which based on Jabber so u can use it with a freemail acc and any jabber client (I use also freemail).

To name u a client, which uses SASL and works with gmx: Coccinella

yes, i have also tried it with PSI .. and it worked (after activating plain non-sasl login)

i still hope though that the guys at igniterealtime.org can help me out :)
