There are various ways to get in contact with the GOIM developers or other GOIM users.

Forums

One of the easiest way is to visit the forums. in the Guestbook/Feedback section you can even post withou signing up. So visit the Discussion Forum.

IRC Channel

You can also join your publicly available IRC channel #goim on the freenode irc network. Grab an IRC client, connect to irc.freenode.net and /join #goim ;)

Mailing list

Altough mainly ment for development, users are welcome to give comments about current developments. See http://mailman.sphene.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/goim-dev for signup / archive & co

This is a great app I would like my entore clan to promote your application but I have seen some bugs if possiable if we can chat or e-mail me @ raw@sasklan.com thank you

your rival is xfire and it won't be easy to beat him. there are some things missing in xfire - it's important that you try to offer them. for example: a standalone server for lan partys (where everybody can see everybody) plugins for the most important multi-protocol messengers (miranda, gaim, trillian)

the other way to get more users is getting one community after the other on your side. i could try to bring the community of "Soldat" to goim. it's a small community and would be able to contact all the important clans, players and websites. so carefully think of which games should be supported first.

well .. GOIM is based on jabber so everyone can run a jabber server, there is also a feature in most jabber servers called 'shared groups' where everyone registered on a server can see everyone else.. see: http://ejabberd.jabber.ru/shared-roster-all for example.

and .. i don't need plugins for those protocols .. because jabber offers transports to almost every other IM service .. i'm using an ICQ, MSN and yahoo transports and they work quite well .. but dozend others exist too ..

i like your last suggestion though .. never thought of smaller gaming communities yet.. but could be a good idea ..
