what would you all think about some sort of FAQ section .. like .. how can i use a ICQ gateway to add my ICQ contacts... or .. how can i join MUC channels .. etc. and .. what would be the best place for it ? simply make a 'FAQ' forum here and put 1 question per thread ? .. or .. make a new Wiki page for the whole FAQ section ? i guess i think the best would be here in the forums .. so everyone can add comments to a question .. or post new questions ... |

How about both?
The Wiki could serve as a FAQ and the forum could be for people who have more specific questions and people who (for some reason) don't read FAQs. |

umm.. well .. of course.. the board is always here ..but..
i wonder if it wouldn't be more 'organized' having each question in it's own thread .. instead of having to edit one whole page .. to add each question .. and eventually people start using the board when they are already in the board reading FAQs ;) |

However, a Wiki would be more user friendly (if it looks as neat as Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:FAQ )). Let's do boards first, then work on an FAQ later. Later = when we have some frequently asked questions to answer. |

well . yeah .. wikipedia uses their wiki for everything .. and it seams to work for everything ..
but there are also examples for using a board as FAQ .. like .. http://forum.goteamspeak.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41 what exactly do you think would be better in the wiki ? maybe i could improve the forum to the point where it also contains the same features.. but has still the advantage of being a forum .. (first of all .. editing posts might be great :) .. or .. uploading images.. ) and .. completely off topic ... i think this board is still missing a Quote functionality ;) maybe i should put up a todo list for the forum.. (but.. the place for it would be here: http://galena.sphene.net/inosit2tracker .. since it's part of galena .. and .. the GOIM tracker seams to be quite cluttered already :) ) |
